Choche was presented as the Laredo Animal Protective Society’s Pet of the Week available for adoption.
Choche is an 11-month-old male Labrador Retriever mix who LAPS said loves playing outdoors.
“He is a nature boy who loves to stop and smell the roses and roll around in freshly watered grass,” LAPS said. “Choche has a playful spirit when taken outside. He likes to explore and wants to find someone who will go on adventures with him.”
Choche is available for an adoption fee of $80. LAPS charges $140 for dogs under 8 months and $80 for dogs 9 months and over. All dogs up for adoption are fully vaccinated with a current rabies vaccine and are microchipped and sterilized.
In addition to seeking forever homes for the dogs, LAPS suggested several other ways to help including sharing the posts on social media. People can also donate a dog’s $80 adoption fee to become a guardian angel, volunteer to take photos and videos for social media, and volunteer with RuffTail Runners Laredo to take the dogs to the park or on a car ride.
To meet the dogs up for adoption and to apply for adoption, visit the LAPS shelter from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday through Saturday. LAPS is located at 2500 Gonzalez St.
LAPS is also partnering with Best Friends For Life, Petco and Walmart to host adoption drives on Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26. The drives will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. both days with one Saturday at the Walmart located at 2320 Bob Bullock Loop and two Sunday at the two Petco locations at 5410 San Bernardo Ave. and 2450 Monarch Dr.
In addition to seeking adoptions for available cats and dogs, the events will also be collecting donations. Items being sought include a variety of food and cleaning products.
