‘Over this cr*p’: Pooch and owner disgust shoppers after leaving dog poo in a Bunnings aisle

Shoppers say they are “bloody sick of dogs and their owners” browsing the aisles at Bunnings after customers have been forced to dodge dog poo left on the floor by “lazy” dog owners.

In a photo posted to Reddit by a furious customer, a number of dog droppings could be seen scattered down a Bunnings aisle.

“I’m probably going to get roasted for this but I am so bloody sick of dogs and their owners at Bunnings,” the customer wrote.

“At my last visit there was literal dog sh*t in the aisle.”

The customer said they had to “dash” off to find a staff member, only to return to the “scene of the crime” to find a woman had already rolled over the dog poo with her trolley.

The image sparked outrage among fellow Bunnings shoppers who were quick to share their grievances with the store’s dog-friendly policy.

“I think people who leave their dog sh*t in the aisles should be banned from Bunnings permanently,” one Redditor said.

Dogs should be allowed but there should be a cleaning policy. If you let your dog sh*t and don’t even bother to pick If up you should get a lifetime ban from that Bunnings. Absolutely trash behaviour,” another commented.

Bunnings’ store policy stipulates stores welcome both assistance animals and “well behaved “ pets that remain on a lead.

The store policy also says owners must maintain full control of their pet at all times and clean up after it, otherwise owners will be asked to remove pets from the store.

The shopper went on to explain the matter was not the first dog-related issue they have witnessed inside the popular hardware store, revealing that on the same day they watched a young Labrador wrap its lead around the legs of another customer.

The customer said a week prior, a “dog fight” broke out at the service desk.

The post has prompted questions over why non-service dogs are allowed inside the store in the first place.

“You don’t take your dog when you get a haircut, browse for clothes, try on shoes, go to the library or a plethora of public places of business. Bunnings shouldn’t be any different,” one commenter said.

“I actually don’t understand the need for the general population to take their dogs to Bunnings. Why? Because you can?” another questioned.

Some said Bunnings fog-friendly policy “clearly being abused”.

Others suggested the store should make a dog pen outside for shoppers who insist on bringing their pooch with them.

It comes after a Sydney couple have faced criticism for allowing their pet dog to sit on a Guzman y Gomez counter top as they tucked into their meal at the Newtown restaurant.
