PAAC gives away free pet food

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Local pet wellness clinic, PAAC, which stands for People Assisting Animal Control, hosted a pet food drive Friday where anyone with cats or dogs could drive up and get free food for the furry friends.

The president of PAAC, Cheryl Martinez, said they were able to have the food drive through a partnership with the company, “Chewy,” and the National Humane Society.

“The problem is that right now people just need the help, they need the assistance, you know, times are hard financially for people,” Martinez said. “So, we're letting people know come to our wellness clinic because that revenue goes back into the community. We're open to everybody for shots, prevention, anything like that so, people can come to that and that allows us to have events like this.”

Martinez said they are grateful to be able to do this and hope for continued support from the community.
