The grandmother of a Pennsylvania man accused of killing his father and the family dog is urging him to hold himself “accountable.”
April Johnson says that her son Michael Houston and grandson Jacque Houston were always close to one another.
“[Jacque] was always with his dad, you know,” she told WPVI. “His dad got them jobs and things like that, you know. So he was always with his father.”
In early March, police responded to an emergency call at Michael’s address – he was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, while the family’s pet dog was killed, according to WPVI. Michael was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators now believe that Michael had an argument with his son, which culminated in Jacque shooting his father. The City of Philadelphia is offering a $20,000 reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for Michael’s death, WPVI reported.
Johnson is now urging her grandson to turn himself into law enforcement.
“If Jacque can hear me, anywhere he is in this world, you know I still love you, but I don't like what you've done,” she said, according to WPVI. “You took my son from me and you need to hold yourself accountable and pay for that.”
