Ten Lives Club, a local cat adoption group, will hold an adoption event called the Thankful Fur Pets Expo from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the McKinley Mall to help find permanent homes for dogs and cats.
The adoptable pets on display will come not only from the Ten Lives Club, but other pet adoption groups and agencies, including the Akron Canine Rescued Angels; Awesome Paws Rescue; Buddy's Second Chance Rescue; the Buffalo Animal Shelter; and Empire Animal Rescue Society or EARS. Others represented include Kat Colony; Hamburg Mutts; Queen City Pitties; Nickel City Canine Rescue; the Pit Chic; Rescue Buffalo; 716 Paws and 7 Hearts Maternity Rescue; the Puppy Mill Rescue Team; and the SPCA Serving Erie County.
“The animal rescue and shelter community has been struggling to keep up with the number of homeless and surrendered pets in need of homes,” said Kimberly LaRussa, public relations manager for Ten Lives Club. “We are hoping that this event helps the animals find their perfect families.”
The event will also include an indoor farmers market.
