Queens residents seeking a new four-legged companion may find their perfect match at the upcoming Pet Adoption Fair, taking place on Saturday, June 14, from 12 to 4 p.m. at Buddy Monument Plaza in Forest Park, located at the intersection of Park Lane South and Myrtle Avenue in Forest Hills.

Now in its 16th year, the event is organized by the Richmond Hill Block Association in partnership with Animal Care Centers of NYC and the ASPCA Community Engagement team. Dogs and cats of all ages will be available for adoption, each in need of a permanent, loving home.

Adoptive families will receive complimentary pet supplies, donated by Richmond Hill Block Association volunteers.

Last year, the event saw a total of 13 pets get adopted and brought to their forever homes. The local non-profit group hosts a list of events for the neighborhood to continue improving the quality of life for the community. Their annual adoption event is a great way to help pets who are in desperate need of a home, as well as providing individuals and families with a new four-legged family member to love and cherish.

Animal Care Centers of NYC regularly hosts mobile adoption events throughout the city, including many neighborhoods in Queens. The organization is always looking for homes to foster and adopt the many dogs and cats staying in its centers, including its Queens location in Ridgewood. Additionally, the ASPCA has been a cornerstone of animal care and will be happy to provide counseling and assistance for those who are interested in adopting.

For those who may not be ready to adopt or foster a pet but still want to help out the cause, the event is looking for donations of new or gently used blankets and/or towels for the animals in the shelter. Monetary donations are also welcome and appreciated. Donations to the ACC can be made by clicking here.

For more information about the pet adoption fair, call the Richmond Hill Block Association at (718) 849-3759.
