Pet and Family Fun Day returns to Nicosia, KNEWS

The highly anticipated Pet and Family Fun Day, a beloved community event created a decade ago by the LefkosiaZO Volunteer Network and the Nicosia Municipality, is set to make a triumphant return to the Nicosia Municipal Garden and Nicosia Municipal Theatre on Sunday, May 26, 2024, from 10:30 am to 6:00 pm.

The annual event aims to raise public awareness of animal rights and support the efforts of shelters in adopting stray animals. In a statement, Leoni Orphanidou, President of the LefkosiaZO Volunteer Network, expressed the event's mission, stating, “…through this year's Pet and Family Fun Day LefkosiaZOYME is sending a message of respect and love for our four-legged friends.”

Organized by dedicated LefkosiaZOME volunteers, the day promises an array of activities for the whole family, featuring music, cinema, children's activities, competitions, demonstrations, animal adoptions, and more.

The festivities kick off at 10:30 am with a screening of the classic film “Lassie Come Home” at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre, captivating audiences with the heartwarming tale of friendship and loyalty.

At the Nicosia Municipal Garden, located behind the House of Representatives, attendees will enjoy a variety of activities for all ages, including football, boating for children, storytelling, food, drinks, yoga sessions, dog competitions and demonstrations, inflatable games, magic shows, a photo booth, and a dog parade for adoption.
