A NEW PLACE TO STAY — The Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce and Jefferson County officials joined the owner and staff of Ruffstic Pet Care for a ribbon cutting Thursday to celebrate its new location at 1406 Cadiz Road, Wintersville.

WINTERSVILLE — The owner of Ruffstic Pet Care said she is happy to be able to offer expanded space and services for area dogs and cats at the business’ new location at 1406 Cadiz Road.

Brook Goddard said she now can provide boarding space for up to 17 canines while also offering grooming, including hair and nails, for dogs and cats.

Goddard had opened the business not far away on Cadiz Road three and a half years ago.

A 1999 graduate of Edison High School, she is a licensed groomer and graduate of the Pampered Pets School of Grooming of Pittsburgh.

Her interest in animals also had led her to earn a veterinary technician’s license from the former Pittsburgh Median School. While she doesn’t practice that trade, she takes pride in the careful attention she provides each pet brought to her business.

Goddard said she has much experience working with animals, having grown up on a farm, and has four dogs, of various sizes, of her own.

Aiding Goddard as groomers are Marrissa Keenan, her daughter; Kenzie Everhart and Kate Cain. Bella Hoffman serves as receptionist, while Goddard’s other daughter, Mya Keenan, will be offering canine massages.

It’s a new service designed to relax dogs.

Goddard noted her husband, Brian; and son, Dillon; helped renovate the new location.

Of her business, she said, “I love it. And the community has been very supportive.”
