Pashan, 24th November 2023: An incident unfolded at Wiggles My Pet Clinic, resulting in the demise of a Labrador Retriever named Honey during a routine visit for vaccination and nail clipping at 6.30 p.m. on November 17.
The 35-year-old owner has taken legal action, filing a criminal case against four individuals, including two veterinary doctors, at the Chatushringi police station.
Reportedly, Honey was entrusted to Dr. Shubham Rajput for his annual vaccination. As the vet and his assistants attempted to secure the dog to a tree using a leash. Consequently, the leash tightened around Honey’s neck, causing the animal to fall. Following this mishap, the vet promptly transferred Honey to the clinic for immediate attention. After 15 minutes, Dr. Rajput announced the devastating news of Honey’s untimely demise, providing no explanation or cause of death.
Both Dr. Rajput (35) and Dr. Sanjiv Rajadhyaksha (60), the attending veterinarians, departed the premises without explaining the circumstances surrounding the dog’s death, leaving the distraught pet owner seeking answers.
The case has been formally registered against Dr. Rajadhyaksha, Dr. Rajput, and two unidentified individuals, as confirmed by Balaji Pandhre, senior police inspector at Chatushringi police station. Pandhre conveyed, “We received a complaint indicating the dog’s demise due to a noose around its neck. Accordingly, a criminal case under Section 429 has been filed, and investigations are underway.”
