DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — One-eyed wonder dog Odin may be looking at the world a little differently than your usual rescue dog, but he’s still got the full share of love and fun to give to a furever family.
He’s at the Humane Society of the Lakes in Detroit Lakes, where his rescue worker Jaycee Voight shows in spite of his missing eye, Odin still has game and loves to play fetch and leap for a toy.
The purebred husky lost his eye to genetic glaucoma, so he’s treated regularly with eyedrops to preserve his remaining eye and vision.
He’s about three years old, good with other dogs and in good shape, as well as being very sweet and understanding basic commands.
However, like most huskies, he does have a high prey drive, so a home with chickens or other birds wouldn’t be a good fit.
Odin’s named for a famous Norse god who also had a missing eye, according to legend.
