BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Jan Dillon, part of PetTec First Aid, is offering a Pet CPR class this Sunday.
The Class has a $100 fee and gives attendees hands-on training with stuffed animals on giving them the skills to take care of their cats or dogs in a crisis.
“We teach you how to be the EMT or the first responder to stabilize your pet and and then how to get then what to do next, how to report that to the veterinarian that you’re coming and the condition of the pet, just like any anti or a first responder would be. We practice these skills in such a manner that when it happens, they always say that it’ll come back to you. And it does. And therefore you know what to do and how to do it. And you can calmly and safely be able to give your pet the care that it needs,” Dillon said.
Though the class is mainly aimed at individuals and businesses that take care of dogs and cats, such as dog boarders or humane society workers, Dillon also recommends the class to pet owners so that in an emergency they know how to calmly handle the situation.

The class on Sunday, Nov. 12 still has openings and comes with a two-year certification upon course completion.
