Kanpur: A pet dog licensing and vaccination drive will be organised on Thursday at the Motijheel's Pramila Auditorium. The initiative includes the distribution of blankets and reflective neck collars to help pets cope with winter. The programme encompasses health examinations for dogs alongside on-site registration facilities.
Dog owners can register their pets through the municipal corporation's website or visit the Cattle Catching Department at Kanpur Municipal Corporation‘s Motijheel headquarters for in-person registration.
According to the Chief Veterinary Officer, the licensing charges are fixed at 500 rupees for foreign breeds and 200 rupees for indigenous breeds per dog. Owners with expired licenses can utilise this opportunity for renewal. The officer warned that the corporation would take strict action against unregistered pet dogs within Kanpur Municipal Corporation boundaries, including monetary penalties and possible confiscation of animals.
