Pet dog sets house on fire after chewing cell phone battery pack: Watch

A video circulating online shows the moment a house caught fire in Tulsa, Oklahoma, when a dog chewed on a lithium-ion battery pack from a cell phone.
The video footage shows the dog nibbling on the battery, which eventually exploded and ignited a fire on what seems to be a pet bed. Two dogs can be seen in the video as the flames and smoke spread throughout the house including the one that accidentally caused the fire, standing at a distance and barking.
According to the USA Today, the Tulsa Fire Department responded to the scene immediately and said the dogs and a cat managed to escape unharmed through a dog door.
Collin Rugg, an individual who shared the video on X, previously twitter said two dogs and a cat were filmed hanging out before one of the dogs started the fire with the battery pack.
The Netizens expressed mixed reactions to the viral video clip. One user commented, “Glad the dogs made it out!”
Second user remarked, “Wow. Glad there was a doggy door. Hope the house didn’t suffer much damage.”
Another user said, “Don't leave pets home unattended!”
The Fire Department issued a warning about the potential dangers of lithium-ion batteries, which have been responsible for numerous fires nationwide.
The department said: “Fire departments all over the country are seeing fires related to these batteries and we want the public to learn about usage, safe storage and proper disposal of these potentially dangerous batteries, “the USA Today reported.
Tulsa Fire public information officer Andy Little said that: “Lithium-ion batteries are known for storing a significant amount of energy in a compact space. However, when this energy is released uncontrollably, it can generate heat, produce flammable and toxic gasses, and even lead to explosions.”
“Many individuals keep these batteries in their homes for convenience unaware of the potential dangers they pose,” Little added.
