OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – One dog was killed in a house fire in North Omaha Friday evening, the Omaha Fire Department said Saturday.
According to an OFD release, crews responded to the scene near Fontenelle Boulevard and Wirt Street around 9:15 p.m. Friday.
The release says crews found a fire in the kitchen, which was quickly extinguished.
No one was home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
Three dogs escaped from the house, but one was found in the home deceased.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damages to the home are estimated to be $30,000.
