WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Two people are without a home, and their pet was killed after a fire in west Wichita late Sunday morning.
Wichita Fire Department Captain Jose Ocadiz confirmed crews responded to a house fire in the 3000 block of West 20th St. N. around 11:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters saw smoke showing from the garage. They were able to enter the home and rescue a pet dog, who later died from its injuries.
The American Red Cross was requested for the adults who are unable to stay at their home due to the damage.
Ocadiz said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
