WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Two people are without a home, and their pet was killed after a fire in west Wichita late Sunday morning.

Wichita Fire Department Captain Jose Ocadiz confirmed crews responded to a house fire in the 3000 block of West 20th St. N. around 11:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, firefighters saw smoke showing from the garage. They were able to enter the home and rescue a pet dog, who later died from its injuries.
