HaltonHillsToday, in partnership with the Upper Credit Humane Society, highlights a special pet in need of adoption every week.
Floki is a big boy, weighing in at 76.4 kg (168 lb), and is looking to find a new, loving home.
Floki came in August 8 nervous and confused, but warmed up nicely once he got to know everyone! He is such a big suck and loves his walks out and about and on the forest trail.
Floki would do best in a home with someone who is experienced with large breed dogs. He does well with other dogs and lived in a home with cats. He will sniff and investigates new cats. Due to his size, Floki can be seen as intimidating, so slow introductions and letting him have the space to settle in would be best.
Floki knows his basic commands – sit, stay, and even shake a paw. He will stick his paw out to you when you stop petting him, wanting more affection and attention. He is famous for leaning right into you when you give him good back rubs too!
Floki is crate trained and we have one here in his size to go with him to his new home.
Floki is nervous of unfamiliar men at first but with slow introductions, and in good time, he will warm up well. Once familiar with people, he will relax with them and you will start to see his funny, goofy character in no time.
Staff do not recommend Floki with small children (under 15 years) and feel he would do best with a mature family.
