Meet our Pet of the Week, Hazelnut! This 1-year, 3-month-old Pit Bull Mix has an irresistibly nutty personality and a sugar-sweet heart. Her life's mission is to entertain everyone she meets and she's bound to have you falling in love in no time.
Hazelnut is the life of the party wherever she goes. Playgroup volunteers say she's excited to see both her human friends and canine companions each morning. She loves to greet you with smiles, kisses and an excitable case of the wiggles.
While she may be adorable and silly, Hazelnut is well-mannered and intelligent. She already knows how to ‘sit' and ‘shake' on command and would love nothing more than to have the chance to learn more.
As an intelligent and athletic girl, Hazelnut will need a watchful family and a secured yard where she can play and let out her energy. Hazelnut loves taking walks and does well walking on a leash. Keeping her active during the days will help her relax and cuddle at the end of a long day.
Hazelnut is not suited for a home with young children, but cannot wait to meet any potential canine siblings prior to her adoption. Her compatibility with cats and livestock is currently unknown.
Hazelnut has been in the care of the Jackson County Animal Shelter for over 75 days, which means her adoption fee has been reduced to $75.
If you want to meet Hazelnut, you can find her at the Jackson County Animal Shelter. Call the shelter at 541-774-6654 and press for adoptions. You can also visit the shelter at 5595 South Pacific Highway from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Tuesday to Friday and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
Pet of the Week is sponsored by Southern Oregon Subaru.
