Pet of the Week | Meet Luna

Meet Luna — a gorgeous four-year-old husky who’s ready to leave the shelter life behind and step into the heart (and backyard) of her forever family.

With her plush coat, striking features and calm demeanour, Luna turns heads wherever she goes — but it’s her sweet soul and quiet devotion that truly set her apart.

She’s the kind of dog who leans into you for comfort, seeks your gaze for reassurance and chooses your affection over toys and treats any day.

Luna is a true people-dog — she bonds deeply with her humans and thrives in a peaceful, loving home.

She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would be happy to share her space with a calm, friendly canine companion.

However, due to her strong prey drive, she’s not suitable for homes with cats, small pets, or young children.

She’s looking for a dog-savvy household that understands the unique traits and needs of her breed.

Luna is also on a bit of a health journey — she’s currently overweight and needs a family committed to helping her return to a healthy weight.

Don’t worry — she’s already made great progress and is eager to keep moving in the right direction.

Daily strolls, backyard zoomies and nutritious meals will go a long way towards helping her thrive.

Her ideal home will have a large, securely fenced yard for safe exploration, owners who understand or are willing to learn about the husky temperament, a calm and predictable routine to help her feel secure, and plenty of love, patience and time to give.

If your heart just skipped a beat reading that, you might be the one she’s been waiting for.

Just fill out the Greater Shepparton Animal Shelter’s adoption questionnaire online, and if you’re a match, the shelter team will help get you started on the adoption process.

Please include clear photos of your backyard with your application so the shelter can ensure Luna will have the space she needs to thrive.

This stunning girl is ready for her next chapter. Could it be with you?
