Pet of the Week: Meet Sheila

Tyler Ryan learns about Sheila, the dog that America saw

COLUMBIA SC (WOLO) – If you are a viewer of On Patrol Live, you may have seen the super cute little pupper that members of the Richland County Sheriff’s Department rescued and brought to Columbia Animal Services for medical attention and adoption.

The citizen called Richland County police who happened to be filming On Patrol Live at the time. Sheila was safely removed from the scene and brought to our shelter. Shelia’s injuries were evaluated and it was determined she needed surgery on her back leg/hip. Sheila had surgery Monday, and as of Tuesday morning, she was expected to have a full recovery.

Here are some of her associated social media posts:

Her surgery was paid for, in part, by the Animal Mission Darla Fund. This is the shelter’s medical fund that helps provide care to animals that come to the Shelter. Donations to Darla Fund can be made here: https://animalmission.org/darla-fund/
