Say hello to Pompano – a youthful striped tabby who’s a big-time cuddler, according to volunteers at Pat Brody Shelter for Cats (PBS) in Lunenburg.
Yes, he’s named after a very shiny tropical gamefish – which mystified me until reading that he actually does share personality traits with his aquatic namesake. For example, he loves a laser light and you can “fish” with him for a long and hilarious session.
“One night he literally plopped to the floor and fell asleep after wearing himself out from chasing the light for so long,” reports one volunteer, who’s enjoyed spending time with this special kitty. He had a rough start – and he didn’t trust the humans around him but, with the expert interaction and love he’s received at PBS, he’s become the “sweetest cuddler and best snuggler around.”
