After a rough start at life, this handsome guy has now come out of his shell and is ready for his forever home
HaltonHillsToday, in partnership with the Upper Credit Humane Society, highlights a special pet in need of adoption every week.
Whiskers was part of a colony living in an industrial area of Milton. A kind woman has been trying to make sure these cats are not left without and managed to trap Whiskers and brought him to us last February. At that point, he never had any close contact with people and was very fearful.
Now, having been here at the shelter for a while, we have had the opportunity to teach him that humans are not the enemy.
We originally thought Whiskers may end up being happy as a “shadow cat” who's admired from afar, but he has come out of his shell and now looks for affection and pats! He needs a home that could give him the love and affection he never knew, now that he can honestly appreciate the humans around him.
Whiskers had his fair share of fights with other cats while trying to survive outside and therefore has FIV. Now that Whiskers is neutered, has a safe place to live and plenty of food, he gets along with other cats just fine.
