ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — It's a special treat for Pet Pals, as a trio of kittens are the featured pets up for adoption!
Meet Helen, Henry and Henrietta, three littermates who are just the tip of the iceberg of the 40-ish kittens up for adoption in Sapphire at Cashiers-Highlands Humane Society right now in the thick of kitten season!
This trio's mom has been a “superstar” as she has stepped in to nurse two other litters of kittens aside from her own, as they needed nourishment after being separated from their own mama cats.
“We are slam-packed with kittens, so if you've ever been interested in getting a kitten or two — or three — please check your shelters because we have tons,” Kaitlyn Villarreal, with Cashiers-Highlands Humane Society, said Friday, May 24.
Although the idea of adopting more than one kitten can seem daunting, Villarreal shared that it's much different than adopting more than one puppy at the same time.
“A lot of people think that two (kittens) is going to be harder, and that may be the case for puppies, but with kittens, really, it's a lot easier because you still just need the one litterbox and then they have each other to entertain themselves, so they're not trying to play with your toes at 3 a.m.,” Villarreal said.
Anyone interested in adopting any of the three kittens can visit the Cashiers-Highlands Humane Society's website andfill out an adoption application HERE. To ask more questions about Henry, Helen and Henrietta, call 828-743-5752.
