Charitable foundation of local auto dealership once again hosting pet photos with Santa
The community is invited to bring their pets to the Open Road Mini dealership in the Langley City auto mall for pet photos on the Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 weekend.
OpenRoad Group’s loyalty and rewards program, Club OpenRoad, is bringing back its annual pet photos with Santa, partnering with the OpenRoad Foundation to spread festive cheer and raise funds for animal charities.
“We launched Pet Photos with Santa in 2019, and pet owners have truly embraced the event by bringing their beloved furry friends to our dealerships to take that special holiday portrait in a warm, welcoming, and safe space,” said Håkan Williams, manager of Club OpenRoad. “It has definitely become a tradition for many of our OpenRoad Group customers. All pets are welcome – from cats, dogs, lizards, to porcupines and hamsters. We look forward to seeing familiar faces and new ones at MINI Langley and OpenRoad Acura Richmond this year.”
Pet photos are being taken between noon and 4 p.m. at the Mini dealership, 6025 Collection Dr., with the funds raised benefiting the Happy Herd Farm Sanctuary. People receive both a digital and printed copy of the photo with a minimum donation of $25
There is also pet photo sessions at the OpenRoad Acura dealership in Richmond with proceeds going to the Regional Animal Protection Society (RAPS).
OpenRoad Foundation is donating $5,000 to each of the charities, in addition to funds raised during the events. Since its inception five years ago, Club OpenRoad’s Pet Photos with Santa has raised more than $22,500 for animal non-profits in B.C. Both charities will be on-site to collect donations and speak with guests.
The Happy Herd, a registered charity, is a farm animal sanctuary for animals either abused or at risk. On four acres, the farm is home to several goats, sheep, chickens, cows, pigs, turkeys, ducks, cats, a dog, and a donkey.
The OpenRoad Foundation is a private foundation created by OpenRoad Auto Group to give grants to Canada Revenue Agency-registered charities. The foundation’s mission is to represent three areas of philanthropy: environment, education, and family life in the communities where OpenRoad Auto Group operates.
