Pet Pics with Santa Paws supports the Cambridge humane society

The Cambridge and District Humane Society is hosting a Pet Pics with Santa Paws event later this month to help raise money for its programs and services.

Families can bring their beloved companions to Ren's Pets at 34 Pinebush Rd on Nov.
23 between 10 a.m.
and 4 p.m.
to have their photo taken with Santa Claus.

A minimum donation to the shelter in the amount of $5 is all that's required.

Its annual fundraising calendar will also be available to purchase for $10.

The need for funding is great as the shelter's medical expenses alone can range from $10,000 to $15,000 per month, with the yearly total well exceeding $100,000. As a not-for-profit, it relies heavily on donations and public support.

A compassion fund to assist people in need with medical emergencies and an emergency pet food bank is also part of the services provided to the community.

In September, staff helped place 24 cats, six dogs and 5 small animals into forever homes.
