Pet shop forced to sell only rescued dogs to combat indiscriminate breeding


As of today, pet shops can only sell puppies from approved rescues and pounds.

Karen Rhodes, President of Dogs’ Refuge Home Shenton Park, told 6PR Perth Today host Simon Beaumont that she hopes this new legislation will help the overflowing rescue centres.

“We are hoping that everyone considers adoption first so many dogs and puppies are desperate for a second chance,” she said.
