Tobi, a Goldendoodle puppy and the adorable companion of Ava Ciambriello, has managed to find a girlfriend and strive for Instagram fame during his first year on campus.
Ciambriello, a senior animal studies major with a sociology minor, got Tobi in May from a breeder she found on Facebook not too far from her hometown in Connecticut. Tobias is his full aname, but he only gets called this when he’s in trouble. Tobi himself has lived an interesting life at the ripe age of one, having been born with three testicles.
Ciambriello says Tobi is as energetic and is always keeping her busy. From running around at the dog park, to playing with new toys, to greeting new people, to chasing blowing leaves and running after Frisbees but never catching them, he’s happy to live his best pet life on Eckerd’s campus.
Besides spending time on South Beach and Kappa Field, Tobi loves to spend time with his girlfriend, Elsie, their neighbor’s puppy. Ciambriello takes this time to knock out her homework, letting Tobi get out his copious amounts of energy. However, his playtime activities never include the ocean or the pool because Tobi refuses to get in the water.
Tobi has managed to be a wonderful support system for Ciambriello through the stress of college, despite her allergy to dogs and cats. He’s adjusted well to Ciambriello’s new roommate, who was already a good friend of hers. Back home in their traditional Kappa dorm, Tobi spends his time playing with his new toys that he was gifted. This year, he got spoiled with a toy spider, a crinkle toy and another that squeaks.
Check out Tobi’s Instagram, @tobiswrld! Though he’s only allowed three minutes of social media a day, he’s nearly managed to reach his goal of 100 followers. If you ever see him on campus, you can go up to him and say hi, as he’ll always come up to you because he loves making new friends!
