SAN FRANCISCO — Pet Supplies Plus announced Feb. 27 is has partnered with DoorDash to provide same-day pet product delivery to its customers across 720 stores nationwide. The neighborhood pet retail franchise offers a wide range of nutrition, toy and accessory products for dogs, cats and other household pets, all of which are now available for on-demand delivery through DoorDash.
“Innovation continues to be a top priority for our brand as we assess how else we can meet the needs of our neighbors,” said Chris Rowland, chief executive officer of Pet Supplies Plus. “This new partnership with DoorDash provides another option for our neighbors to get what they need to give their pets a happy and healthy life. We pride ourselves on being a one-stop-shop for pet parents, and now we can reach even more people as our brand grows.”
While Pet Supplies Plus remains committed to its brick-and-mortar pet retail presence, partnering with the last-mile delivery service will benefit its omnichannel strategy and complement its expanding in-person shopping network. The franchise, which also owns and operates Wag N’ Wash stores across North America, is expecting record growth in 2024.
The partnership also benefits DoorDash's growing pet product delivery vertical, which includes several other pet-focused retailers including Petco, Independent Pet Partners, PetSmart and others.
“Since launching the Pets vertical in 2020, DoorDash has more than 400,000 pet products available for on-demand delivery,” said Fuad Hannon, vice president of new verticals at DoorDash. “We're thrilled to expand our selection further with the addition of Pet Supplies Plus to the Marketplace. Consumers can now access all their pets' daily essentials — from food and grooming supplies to toys and accessories — all in under an hour [based on average delivery times], on DoorDash.”
