Pets adopted at annual Home for the Holidays event

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Several pets now have a new home, after the Home for the Holidays adoption at Scoggin-Dickey Subaru.

This annual event, hosted by Scoggin-Dickey and FOX34, pairs with local shelters to help these animals find a forever home.

As winter approaches, the goal is to get dogs off the streets. But they need your help in clearing the shelters first.

The rescues are also stressing the many benefits to adopting a shelter dog.

“You’re not supporting puppy mills, you’re not supporting animal abuse, you’re saying ‘it stops with me’ and it stops now, said Isaiah Andrade with the Haven Animal Shelter.

“You’re giving a dog a second chance. Whatever happened with that dog in the past, you’re giving them a second chance. You’re telling them ‘you’re safe with me now’.”

Kristin Carol was at the event Saturday. FOX34 once again was the Home for the Holidays media sponsor.
