PETS FUR ADOPTION — Looking for a shy and snuggly cat or a ball-of-energy dog? Meet some of the Capital Region’s most precious pets looking for their fur-ever homes!

Each week, Pets Fur Adoption will feature several cats, dogs and other animals available for adoption or foster at local shelters and rescues.

Take a look at this week’s bunch below. 

 

Name: Santiago
Gender & breed: Male Domestic Long Hair
Age: 5 years old
Organization: Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter, Sprakers
About: Santiago is a huge ham! This boy is good with some cats, but does need a dog free home. Santiago is FIV+.

Name: Jilly
Gender & Breed: Female Medium Hair
Age: 2 years old
Organization: Montgomery County SPCA, Amsterdam
About: Jilly was found wandering all alone and was brought to the Montgomery County
SPCA in late June to find a fur-ever home. She is a sweet and friendly girl, especially when she gets a nice scratch behind the ears. She enjoys playing with toys and the other cats, and would love to share her new home with a buddy cat.

Name: Paige
Gender & Breed: Female Shepherd/Rottie mix
Age: 5 to 7 years old
Organization: Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter, Sprakers
About: Paige is the best of the best. She loves everyone she meets. She is a mellow girl who doesn’t require too much exercise. She’d much rather lounge around and hang out with you all day. Paige is good with male dogs, and cats.

Gender & Breed: Male Domestic Shorthair
Age: 3 years old
Organization: Animal Protective Foundation, Glenville
About: Oreo is a super sweet and loveable boy. He is settling in nicely and showing off his friendly personality.

Name: Broley
Gender & Breed: Male Pitbull Terrier / Hound mix
Age: 2 years old
Organization: Fulton County Regional SPCA, Gloversville
About: Broley’s owners never came for him even though they knew he was at the shelter. This super sweet guy is looking for a new family that will see what a gem he is! Broley is about a year and a half old and weighs 57 lbs and could live with a properly matched dog but Kitties are an absolute no for him.

Gender & Breed: Female Pitbull mix
Age: 1 year old
Organization: Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, Menands
About: Lourdes is a super shy lady at first and needs someone who can help boost her confidence. But once she warms up, her goofy, playful side will come right out.
Lourdes needs a home that will take things slow, at her pace. She would also do best in a home with older children, if any, and a calm canine sibling.

Gender & Breed: Female Domestic Shorthair
Age: 2 years old
Organization: Animal Protective Foundation, Glenville
About: Mimi is a beautiful kitty looking for someone to bond with. She can be a bit shy but her friends at APF are socializing with her everyday to help her come out of her shell.
Mimi would do best in a home with no other animals but if you have a lowkey cat she may be open to a slow introduction.

Name: Tank
Gender & Breed: Male Corgi mix
Age: 3 years old
Organization: Fulton County Regional SPCA, Gloversville
About: Tank was brought to the shelter as one big itchy mess. A simple trip to the vet and he is feeling and looking much better. Despite knowing his owner, Tank was never reclaimed. So now he is looking for a fur-ever family that will take care of him and love him. Tank is a pint size boy with a Corgi body weighing in at 35 lbs!

Name: Kinsley
Gender & Breed: Female Black Lab
Age: 2 to 4 years

About: Kinsely is so sweet. This lab lady came in as a stray. We don’t know much about her yet, but she is okay with some dogs and needs a kitty free home.

Age: 3 years old

About: Burdock is a sweet, cuddly dude who knows his limits. He is a slow blink pro and he likes people but he will let you know when he’s had enough. Because of that, he is probably not right for a home with small humans and would most likely succeed in a home that has an understanding of cat behavior that can give him all the snuggles and also space when he needs and wants it.

Name: Blue
Gender & Breed: Male Pitbull Terrier mix
Age: 3 years old

About: Blue was being starved by his owner weighing in at a mere 49 lbs. Thankfully he made his way to the FCRSPCA where he received the necessary vet care for his severe ear infections and the nutritious food he deserves! Blue is gaining healthy weight and his ears are healing! Blue is the absolute sweetest boy and even more appreciative of the love he receives!

About: Rosie is a great girl! She’s a senior, but she has a lot of life left to live! She loves her people. She will need a home with older kids, if any. She is good with some male dogs. But no kitties. She loves adventures and enjoys a good car ride!
