Pets of the week: Aloe loves water. Kitti has big green eyes

JACKSON, MI — The Jackson County Animal Shelter, 3770 Spring Arbor Road, has many pets available for adoption.

Here are two of them.

Aloe is a 2-year-old American Staffordshire mix who was surrendered by her owner due to housing issues.

She has really pretty markings with a white stripe that goes up both thighs. Aloe is friendly and has some dog friends she plays with at the shelter.

When outside, she is curious and a sniffer. If she sees water she is either jumping in it or drinking it. It would not take long for this smart girl to learn some basic commands as she is treat motivated.

Kitti is the name, but this cute tiger cat is actually 6-years-old. He was found near Ella Sharp Park.

Kitti has been declawed on his front feet, so he is looking to be an indoor pet. He is great with dogs and likes to cuddle. You will love his big green eyes, pink nose and white chin. He is very mellow and also very friendly.

Cat adoption fees are $60 for one cat, $80 for two, which includes applicable tests, vaccinations and spay/neutering.

The shelter’s current hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
