Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — April 28, 2025 — Dogs and cats of all ages, breeds and sizes are available through area animal rescues and shelters, as well as opportunities to help homeless animals through foster programs, donations, and help with fundraisers and other family-friendly activities.
JRN has partnered with area animal shelters to present “Pets of the Week.” We will feature a handful of animals each week. If interested in adopting or volunteering with the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society, go to neahs.org.
Meet Karen Smith: Karen is a 1-year, 2-month-old female who is up to date on all of her vaccines and preventatives. She’s a domestic short hair and is that dilute tortoiseshell color that we all love! She’s been in the shelter for 10 weeks but came from a good home where she was well-cared for and loved.
Meet Blue: Blue is the shelter’s longest-staying animal, as he’s been here for three years and seven months. He was only two years old when we got him, and he’s definitely a staff favorite! He’s neutered, microchipped, and heartworm negative. And while at 68 lbs., he may look like a tough customer, his favorite things are puppy-sitting and orthopedic beds!
