(607NewsNow) — Our pets of the week start with Maverick (Top L) and Oliver (Top R) from CNY Snap.
Maverick is about a year old. She’s slightly bashful around so the other cats in the shelter and finds noises to be a bit startling, so she finds quiet places to observe from. She can be pet and just needs a loving person that will give her time to adjust in a quieter setting. She has been spayed, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and is microchipped and up to date on vaccines.
Oliver is about a year old as well and has been raised in a foster home with other cats and children. Oliver is a playful, sweet youngster who can often be found chasing his mouse toys. He would make a great addition to a loving family and would really benefit from having another cat to play with. He has also been neutered, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and is microchipped and up to date on vaccines.
Next, we have Paprika (Bottom L) and Dakota (Bottom R) from the Cortland County SPCA. Paprika is a quiet, independent spirit who’s more comfortable keeping watch from a distance rather than curling up on a couch. She’s shy with people but fearless when it comes to taking care of herself. This brave girl is built for barn life — she’s alert, self-sufficient, and happiest with room to roam. She won’t ask for much, just a safe space to call her own.
Dakota is a Husky with an energy that’s contagious. His funny antics will keep you laughing all day long, as he has a sweet nature that’s hard to resist. He can be pretty vocal like most Huskies, but only because he has so much to tell you. He loves to trot around and take walks, but seem a bit confused by things like fetch and tug-of-war. Dakota would be a great companion for anyone looking for a fun, affectionate, and energetic dog.
