Pets of the Week is a regular column highlighting pets available for adoption at the Franklin County Animal Shelter.

Here are our Pets of the Week for the week of July 15th!

Lola

Lola: Female, 1-3 years, Pittie mix
Nicknames: Showgirl, Lottie
Energy level: Medium
Sociability:
People: Nervous at first, but very sweet
Dogs: Not recommended
Cats: Unknown
Personality:
Meet Miss Lola! She is a very sweet young lady once she gets to know you. She can be very wary of new people, and she can be a bit reactive in stressful situations. However, she is great for handling, and will ask for snuggles no matter what task is at hand. Once she is comfortable, she is very affectionate and sweet! We recommend for Lola to go to a home with no other pets, and while she is not a risk to children, her nervousness and reactivity means she would be best in a home with kids who are 12 and older. Come meet this adorable snuggler who just needs a little extra time to become more comfortable!
Likes: Snuggles, kisses, Barry Manilow
Dislikes: Dog room, anxiety, the Feds

Starry Night

Starry Night: Female, 1-3 years, Shorthair Tortoiseshell
Nicknames: Van Gogh
Energy level: Medium
Sociability:
People: Sweet with people!
Cats: Follows suit with other cats
Dogs: Unknown
Personality:
Meet Starry Night! This speckled beauty loves to hang around in comfy places in the cat room. She likes to find unorthodox beds (such as a dust pan) and loves to hang out there until you notice her and giggle. She is very interested in people, and likes to hang out nearby. With cats, she tends to match the energy of those around her. So, if the other cats are being chill, so will she. But if they are feeling spicy, she may change her tune a bit. Come by and meet Starry Night to see if she is the right fit for your home!
