The following are the Pets of the Week at Burke County Animal Services:
Gilford: This stunning girl is ready to meet her forever family. Gilford loves to snuggle, enjoys being held and would love a good lap to sit on. She does well with other cats and people of all ages.
Gordito: This adorable 5-month-old Lab mix is eager to begin his new adventure with a family. He is very sweet. He does well with a leash and enjoys his walks. Gordito loves all people!
Lester: Lester is just a handsome boy and does not know he is bigger than your normal lap dog. He loves to give hugs. Lester is good on a leash and enjoys his walks and exploring new places. Lester does well with other dogs and loves all people.
Mac and Cheese: Mac and Cheese is just as fun as his name! He loves to be petted and enjoys all the treats! Mac and Cheese does well with other cats and would be great as an indoor or an indoor/outdoor best friend.

Animal Services is currently in need of food donations for its community pet food bank, which goes to help pets of those in need. Donations can be dropped off or mailed to Burke County Animal Services at 425 Kirksey Drive, Morganton, NC 28655.
Those in need of pet food can stop by Animal Services and fill out a one-time informational form and let them know what you need.
