(607NewsNow) — Our pets of the week start with Jessie (Top L) and Jack Sparrow (Top R) from CNY Snap.
Jessie is approximately 2.5 years old and came to the shelter as a scared, feral cat in February 2023. She has come a long way from being fearful and now loves being around people and has been waiting for her home for a while now. She recently went to a school, sat on laps, and enjoyed all the pets from kids. She isn’t bashful about seeking out attention anymore. She has been spayed, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and is microchipped and up to date on vaccines.
Jack Sparrow is about 3-5 years old. He had a been a stray living outside for a long time with a collar on trying to find refuge and food. He was sick and hungry when someone brought him to the shelter in January 2025 to spare him from enduring the cold any longer. He’s gentle, calm, and friendly. Jack Sparrow is a good boy unlike the pirate character he’s named after. He has been neutered, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and is microchipped and up to date on vaccines.
Next, we have Eve (Bottom L) and Candy (Bottom R) from the Cortland County SPCA. Eve is about 2.5 years old and is goofy and loves to play and show her energetic side. She also loves to play games and learn new tricks. Eve is quite social and has gotten along with kids and other dogs well, though she can be a bit picky about her canine playmates. After a long day of playing, Eve loves to wind down and cuddle up with her favorite people.
Candy is 5 years old and loves to find a comfy spot to curl up. She is calm and easy-going, enjoying the sound of a friendly voice and gentle pets. You’ll be able to tell she’s feeling content and comfortable by her loud purr that sounds strangely similar to a motorboat. Candy enjoys her independence, but equally enjoys the companionship of her favorite people.
