Pets of the Week: Meet Bluebell and Fifi – Brainerd Dispatch

This gray beauty is a 5-year-old, 7.5-pound domestic shorthair cat who wants to go home with you! Bluebell was a neighborhood stray who came to the shelter with her kittens. She's a loving mama who wants all the attention in the world. The second Bluebell sees you, she goes straight to rub up on your legs and roll over to ask for pets. Bluebell will bring so much love and warmth into your life.

Bluebell is microchipped, vaccinated to age and available for foster to adopt until she's scheduled to be spayed at The Babinski Foundation.

Meet Fifi! She's an 8-month-old, 26.8-pound Australian cattle dog mix with lots of energy and love. Her favorite activity is meeting new people she can kiss and play with. Fifi previously lived with other dogs, horses and cats. While she did wonderfully with the dogs and horses, she would do best in a home without cats. She's a food-motivated girl who knows “sit” and “down” and loves to play with balls and squeaky toys. Fifi still needs some help with potty training, but we think she'll get it down quickly!

Fifi is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccines

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.

Hi, I'm the Brainerd Dispatch. I started working a few days before Christmas in 1881 and became a daily paper two years later. I've gone through a lot of changes over the years, but what has never changed is my commitment to community and to local journalism. I've got an entire team of dedicated people who work night and day to make sure I go out every morning, whether in print, as an e-edition, via an app or with additional information at www.brainerddispatch.com. News, weather, sports — videos, photos, podcasts and social media — all covering stories from central Minnesota about your neighbors, your lakes, your communities, your challenges and your opportunities. It's all part of the effort to keep people connected and informed. And we couldn't do it without support.
