Pets of the Week: Meet Ivie and Saturday – Brainerd Dispatch

Ivie is a great dog who loves to be with her people and would make a great traveling partner. She likes to play with toys and sleep with pillows. She is trustworthy to stay in her yard after she knows her home but also walks well on a leash. Ivie will let you know she needs to go outside by ringing a bell. Her nickname “Monkey” is fitting due to her playful nature. She does well on her medication for unknown allergies. Ivie is looking for a home where her new best friends are home the majority of the time.

Saturday is a beautiful, medium-long hair with a big, fluffy tail. Saturday is quiet and enjoys the sun and napping in his chosen spaces. He can be affectionate and enjoys being brushed and petted and even an occasional belly rub, but he doesn’t crave it as some do. He does not care for other big male cats getting too near and will hiss.

Adopting from Paws + Claws

Those interested in adopting Ivie or Saturday should call Paws + Claws at 218-675-7297 to set up an appointment. A $25 hold can be placed on an animal over the phone.

Donations and adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, micro-chipping, vaccinating, deworming, any medical procedures and general care.

Paws + Claws is located at 2949 Highway 371, Hackensack.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.

Hi, I'm the Brainerd Dispatch. I started working a few days before Christmas in 1881 and became a daily paper two years later. I've gone through a lot of changes over the years, but what has never changed is my commitment to community and to local journalism. I've got an entire team of dedicated people who work night and day to make sure I go out every morning, whether in print, as an e-edition, via an app or with additional information at www.brainerddispatch.com. News, weather, sports — videos, photos, podcasts and social media — all covering stories from central Minnesota about your neighbors, your lakes, your communities, your challenges and your opportunities. It's all part of the effort to keep people connected and informed. And we couldn't do it without support.
