JACKSON, MI — The Jackson County Animal Shelter, 3770 Spring Arbor Road, has many pets available for adoption.
Here are two of them.
Moosoo is a 4-year-old Catahoula Leopard dog mix. This guy is a medium sized pup at 35 pounds.
He is ultra friendly and happy to go outside for walks or play. Moosoo has enjoyed playing with some of the other dogs when he has been turned out with them.
Because he wants to be a pleaser, he would likely be easy to train new things. His hair coat has a unique coloring and he has one eye that is partially blue. Moosoo is house trained and knows some basic commands.
Hilda is a 6-year-old brown tiger cat that is 8 pounds. She was surrendered by her owner who was not able to care for her.
Hilda is quiet, calm and friendly. She has a great purr motor and loves being petted. This affectionate girl is looking for a lap to sit on and person to love.
Dog adoptions require an application, online. A meet-and-greet with a dog also is mandatory. A cat room walk-through is available to test reaction. The dog adoption fee is $150 for medium and large dogs and $250 for puppies and small dogs, which includes vaccinations, microchip and sterilization.
Cat adoption fees are $60 for one cat, $80 for two, which includes applicable tests, vaccinations and spay/neutering.
Visiting the shelter is always best, but other adoption resources include online applications at https://www.co.jackson.mi.us/2302/Our-Adoptable-Animals, faxing 517-780-4750 or emailing animalshelter@mijackson.org.
