Pets & People Humane Society’s 14th Pawsitively Pampered dog wash and vendor event raised nearly $5,000 to help pay for spay and
neuter surgeries and vet care for abandoned pets who come into their facility or foster homes.
Volunteer dog washers and groomers completed 145 washes, 69 grooms, 131 nails trims and expressed nine glands, according to Pawsitively Pampered Event co-coordinator Peggy Nichols.
“The crowd always seems to love it,” said Nichols, who has organized the event for 14 years. “They are very complimentary. A lot of people like to return because the event is very well known. It’s popular with vendors who told me they were very happy with sales this year.”
Those participating included 43 vendors and five food trucks.
Nichols reported the majority of dogs groomed were Doodles.
YNB donated the space for Pawsitively Pampered at their location on Garth Brooks Boulevard.
“YNB has been very faithful every year to allow Pets & People to come to our favorite spot for this popular event,” said Amy Brooks Young, acting executive director.
Those who missed Pawsitively Pampered but want to help are encouraged to mail checks to Pets & People Humane Society atP.O. Box 850587, Yukon, OK 73085.
