TERRYVILLE, CT (WFSB) – Two dogs were rescued from a house fire on Friday afternoon.
Authorities responded to reports of a structure fire at 2 p.m. on Dorothy Lane in the Fall Mountain section of town.
Upon arrival, emergency crews found a single-family home engulfed in heavy fire and smoke billowing from the roof.
All residents had safely evacuated, but two dogs remained trapped inside.
Firefighters from Wolcott, Bristol, Harwinton, and Thomaston provided mutual aid to help combat the fire.
After the roof collapsed, firefighters re-entered the home to extinguish the remaining flames and locate the animals.
One of the dogs required resuscitation from EMS, and all pets were subsequently taken to a local veterinarian for evaluation.
The scene has been turned over to the Fire Marshal’s Office for further investigation.
