Shocking video footage has captured the moment an Arizona couple’s pets were left to run out into a busy road while being looked after by the ‘world’s worst dog sitter.’
Brooke Gambino and Mohammad Kabiri were stunned when they reviewed their Ring camera and saw beloved dogs Goose and Bernardo being allowed to run around unsupervised in the darkness.
The couple had left their pets with a sitter found through the app Rover while away in Costa Rica. However, it wasn’t long before ‘red flags’ cropped up, including the sitter sending a photo of the wrong dog claiming it was theirs.
It was only once they returned home and found their home in disarray that they decided to review the Ring footage and were left shocked by the results.
The video shows Gustav and Bernardo running into the road outside the couple’s Arizona home and toward a moving car for 30 minutes before anyone chases after them.

Eventually, the sitter’s boyfriend realizes what has happened and is heard yelling: ‘Where are those dogs? What have you done?’
The dogs miraculously returned unscathed, but Gambino said their treatment over the trip away had been a ‘disaster’.
‘This is a busy street right here. Our dogs ran out, they were gone for 30 minutes, she didn’t even chase after them,’ Gambino told 12News.
When they returned home, the couple found mystery stains and trash everywhere, as well as unidentified possessions.
During their trip, they received a text from the sitter stating she had been taken to hospital and that the dogs would now be watched by her partner.
However, the footage showed her boyfriend returning for just minutes at a time, leaving the dogs shut up in crates for almost three days.
‘No one is home with the dogs for 23 hours, plus. They’re crated for three days straight,’ Gambino added.
The couple left their beloved dogs Goose and Bernardo with the sitter whilst they went to Costa Rica
But they immediately began to panic after they were sent a picture of the wrong dog, which the sitter claimed was theirs
On returning home they found their home in total disarray and realized by reviewing Ring footage the dogs had been left shut in crates for three days without proper supervision
‘Nothing happened to our dogs by luck. Like, just by pure luck. We would never want someone to have to deal with that.’
Rover said it will issue a full refund to the couple and has suspended the sitter while it is investigating the ‘unusual’ situation.
‘As part of our booking process, we encourage pet owners to conduct a Meet & Greet with prospective sitters and carefully outline expectations for caring for their pets,’ a statement from the company said.
‘All sitters on Rover must pass a background check, complete a safety quiz, and have their profile reviewed by a member of our team prior to listing their services on the platform.
‘Safety is at the heart of everything we do at Rover.’
