Pittsburgh Humane Animal Rescue adoption fee prices slash

Pittsburghers are already lining up at the East End location of Humane Animal Rescue. “We want to make sure that when an animal leaves our shelter, that it is in the best state possible, and that folks who are adopting that are off to a good start,” said Michele Frennier with Humane Animal Rescue. That's why they spay or neuter each animal who's adopted. They also get them up to date on all vaccines, needed medical care and microchip pets being adopted. The adoption fees vary depending on the species and age of the animal. “Puppies and kittens tend to have a higher adoption fee, seniors less,” Frennier said. “Then we have other animals besides dogs and cats, we have rabbits, we have a few guinea pigs, a chinchilla and a turtle as well.”Those adoption fees, anywhere from $25 to $385, are being underwritten by the Fragasso Group this weekend. While you can come in and browse through the cat room, you can't do that for the dogs. The best place to start is the website. Humane Animal Rescue staff members help match you with the best new family member for your situation. All you have to pay is the license fee and you can find the perfect pet. “I mean, it's just having a companion, having someone to be there right around you,” said Amanda Breitigan, who is adopting a dog. Humane Animal Rescue says there are 100 animals ready for adoption right now.
