Plans to create dog kennels next to holiday let at Grade II-listed property in Frampton

Plans to create dog kennels next to a holiday let at a Grade II-listed property have been put forward.

Proposals to change the use of an outbuilding at the 17th century Park Cottage at Frampton have been submitted to Boston Borough Council.

Applicants D. Loizou and S. Francis want to create an area for their pets adjacent to current holiday accommodation at their Church End home.

“The property, Park Cottage, is a single residence with a number of outbuildings within the grounds,” the design and access statement prepared by agent NiCAD Consultancy Services explained.

“One such building is used as a holiday let and it is this building which is to be developed.

“The extension is to modify an existing section to the side of the building. There currently sits an outdoor dog run which is secured by a dwarf wall, brick pillars and iron gates.

“The intention (which has started) is to enclose an area to allow two separate indoor spaces for the dogs.”

The statement adds the proposed works have been ‘carefully designed not to look out of place’ next to the house.

Environmental Health say they have no objection to the proposal but have requested a condition be attached to any consent prohibiting any commercial use of the kennels, such as for boarding or breeding ‘to protect the amenity of neighbouring residential properties’.
