ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The dogs and cats at the RCACP are feeling lucky on Thursday as the organization gets ready for an after-hours adoption event in Roanoke.
“We are FULL in our large dog rooms, if you have been thinking about adopting now is the time!” the RCACP wrote on Facebook. “We have lots of great dogs that are dog friendly, cat friend, child friendly, young, old, you name it, we have the perfect match for you. No adoption fee and extended hours on Thursday!!”
Angels of Assisi also took to social media, urging people who are missing pets or planning to adopt to contact the RCACP as soon as possible.
“They legally have to have a certain amount of kennels open each day for stray animals,” Angels of Assisi said. “If they DO NOT have pets leave their facility, they will have to make heartbreaking decisions. It is the cold, hard truth that absolutely no one wants to face. Please help!”
The Angels of Assisi Adoption Center team is working hard to find homes for their animals and free up space so they can pull animals from the RCACP. In fact, the nonprofit took in four dogs from the RCACP on Wednesday, March 9, but did not have the space to take anymore.
The RCACP is located at 1510 Baldwin Avenue NE, but you can also call the shelter at 540-344-4922.
