Pregnant Pit Ditched In Storm Has 47 Minutes Left To Live

Many dogs languish in shelters, never glimpsing the hope of rescue, facing premature ends due to stringent shelter regulations. One such dog, Stormi, found herself on the brink of euthanasia, her fate hanging by a thread as the clock ticked towards 2 p.m. — her scheduled time of no return. In a race against time, Lisa Chiarelli from Frankie, Lola and Friends in California, alongside her friend Karla, committed themselves to save Stormi. Learning of the pregnant dog’s dire situation, they sped to the shelter, arriving just forty-seven minutes before Stormi was to be euthanized.

“The shelter gave this sweet girl till 2:00 today to be rescued. @lisachiarelli and I couldn’t get her out of our heads… We couldn’t let this be the end for her and her babies,” Karla shared on Instagram.

Relief washed over Stormi as she leapt into the safety of her rescuers’ car, sensing a brighter future ahead despite her discomfort from her imminent labor. Karla became her temporary guardian, integrating her into a household bustling with foster dogs. Initially, Stormi was given a quiet space to settle in, with her foster siblings occasionally visiting to sniff and greet her. Karla was careful to ensure Stormi felt secure before introducing her to the rest of the pack. However, it was clear from the start that Stormi enjoyed the company and was sociable.

The awaited moment soon arrived, and Stormi excelled in her new role as a mother to eight beautiful puppies, more than Karla and Lisa had anticipated. Stormi embraced motherhood with innate grace and diligence, dedicating herself to nurturing and protecting her litter in the seclusion of a puppy room. As weeks passed, Stormi not only cared for her pups but also rediscovered her own playful spirit, engaging in joyful antics with the other dogs, including Anna, a blind pup who became a particular friend. The transformation was profound; Stormi was healing and learning to trust once more.

The narrative took a joyous turn when a loving family with two children expressed a desire to meet Stormi. The connection was instantaneous, a perfect match that promised a permanent home filled with love and security.

Sign Petition Today: New Bill Makes it Illegal to Discriminate Against Dogs!

Dogs face harmful stereotypes, with breeds like pit bulls and Rottweilers legally discriminated against, affecting their survival chances. A new bill seeks to eliminate breed restrictions in public housing, promoting fair treatment and aligning with scientific evidence.

Stormi and her puppies, each embarking on their own paths, stepped into new lives filled with promise. Stormi, now treasured as a beloved family member, had transcended her troubled past to embrace a future rich with affection and companionship.
