MANILA, Philippines — Actress Yassi Pressman shared some pet care tips to new “paw-rents” as she highlighted her own experience from taking care of five dogs.

During the recent launch of Bonifacio Global City (BGC) Central Bark, the newest off-leash dog park in Metro Manila, Yassi shared a glimpse of her own life as a paw-rent as she had her dogs with her running around the new pet-friendly park.

“I have five dogs. One is American bully. Mula, Dime are my girls, American bullies as well. And we have one more boy, Biggie Bank, and super liit lang niya,” Yassi told Philstar.com in an exclusive interview.

Yassi shared that Presidential Paws, a brand that she owns that offers dog accessories and other necessities, has been tapped by BGC for a partnership in finally opening an off-leash park specially dedicated to dogs.

“Central Bark is ours po, and BGC is our partner. BGC were the ones who said, ‘Okay, you can take this spot if you could build something nice for the community.’ Kasi po ang dami pong mga condos dito, and of course, there are many, many parks. And there hasn’t been a big off-leash park (for pets) yet,” Yassi said.

“Sa States po kasi, and many other different places, they have a lot of spots like this, where people come and they picnic, and they read books. Siguro it’s about time na makalabas na tayo sa mga kwarto natin where sometimes we feel caged, right? And of course you want a space for your dog to run around as well. So it’s a blessing for all of us.”

Living up to its name of being a pet-friendly location, BGC continues to welcome all paw-rents and their furbabies with excitement and delight. In partnership with Presidential Paws and PetMe, BGC Central Bark is the biggest off-leash dog park in the heart of BGC, ensuring all visitors, furbabies, and “hoomans” that with every visit, they can always have the best time imaginable.

Yassi shared some pieces of advice to new paw-rents:

1. Research about their breed.

Yassi emphasized that owning a dog means knowing your dog well. “Know what their habits and behavior are.”

2. Get to know their origin.

“It is important to know who their parents are kung pwede, kasi (understanding your pet’s) temperament also is very important,” she said.

The actress noted it helps in giving what your dog needs.

3. Give them space.

And she means actual, literal space.

“If you’re gonna get an energetic dog, hopefully you have the space for them. If you have a smaller space, get a smaller dog.”

She said having enough space for your dogs to move, jump and play is important to your pet’s well-being.

“It’s all about responsible ‘paw-renthood’,” she added.

Located at Sundial Park in front of Seibu Tower, BGC Central Bark is a 600-square meter dog park is a partnership between BGC, Presidential Paws, and PetMe. With its dog-approved features, BGC Central Bark creates an avenue for furbabies and pawrents to enjoy off-leash adventures at any day of the week. It offers a safe, fun space for dogs of all sizes to romp around and play, with an obstacle course, supervised facilities and even exclusive park event.
