BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A new way for owners to get outside with their pets hit the ground running this weekend.
The first annual Pupkin Walk & 5K was hosted by the Warren County Public Library and Warren County Parks & Rec.
Pet owners took to Michael Buchanon Park dressed up in costumes, including some for their furry friends.
Even Scooby Doo & Bluey decided to make appearances to meet with the kids.
Library staff mentioned they’ve done plenty of events with humans in mind, but loved trying out a new concept for the animals in our community.
“We do a lot of events for families, but this is the first event that the library has done with pets in mind. So we’re just really excited to see people out here having fun with their dogs, getting to meet other pet owners,” Emily Witthuhn, Community Outreach Manger for the Warren County Public Library says.
They also took donations for the Bowling Green/Warren County Humane Society, and staff hope this event can return next year.
