Purina donates $25,000 to support people, pets affected by Hurricane Helene

ST. LOUIS — Following the devastation from Hurricane Helene toward the end of September, Nestlé Purina PetCare announced a $25,000 grant to support rescue and relief efforts. The company is also working with its manufacturing facilities to donate thousands of pounds of Purina pet foods and cat litter to pet shelters and pet owners in impacted communities.

The pet food company provided the grant to Greater Good Charities, a global nonprofit. The donation will help fund emergency efforts, providing food, medical supplies and more to individuals in need, as well as help transport shelter pets to safety.

Greater Good Charities currently has multiple teams providing aid in the Southeast, distributing food, water and survival supplies to its partners, as well as providing pet food and veterinary supplies to nonprofit pet organizations.

“Our hearts go out to the families and pets affected by Hurricane Helene and the devastating flooding across Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennessee and Virginia,” said Kim Beardslee, director of community affairs at Purina. “Purina has a long history of supporting communities in the wake of natural disasters, and we’re proud to support Greater Good Charities’ life-saving work during this time of great need.”
