The wife of an RAF officer, Jason Shutt, has told GB News her family has been forced to move homes after they were targeted by machete-wielding thieves in a horrific burglary.

Nurse Sashi Shutt, 40, is unable to sleep without taking sleeping tablets after the horrendous ordeal saw her pinned against the wall of her home in Ruislip, west London, last month.

The thieves stole £20,000 worth of valuables and the family’s pet dog Ozzie after forcing their way into the property.

Speaking to Martin Daubney, Shutt made a desperate appeal for Ozzie to be returned home.

Sashi Shutt made a desperate plea on GB News for her family dog, Ozzie, to be returned home

GB NEWS

“I realised on my way to work I had left my cleaning bag at home so I returned home to walk down our path and I found the front door and windows open”, she said.

“I did not assume anyone would be in the house – sometimes my partner comes back and lets the dog out when he has forgotten something. I carried on my business and walked in, then I could hear footsteps and rumbling.

“As protection, I work in A&E, I took out some tuff scissors, I followed into the dining room when I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. They told me not to move and had a machete round my neck.

“They carried on their business and after what seemed like a lifetime, they all left. I then found my phone and called 999. They responded in three to four minutes.”

She added: “Since the attack happened, I haven’t slept. I am on sleeping tables and medication through the day to calm me. I have panic attacks and I wake up in the night having nightmares.

“Due to all of this, we are relocating. I am moving tomorrow. The military has been supporting us.”

Shutt’s son, Harry, 13, told GB News about his love for Ozzie.

“He was just like a teddy bear. So cuddly and kind, like a human. He was amazing.

“He’s got a scar on his back leg and he will reply to his name.”

Sashi said the pug has had cancer in the past and requires regular treatment and while she can accept losing material items, losing Ozzie means so much more.

The Metropolitan Police said: “Police have investigated a report of an aggravated burglary that happened in Bridgwater Road, Ruislip, on Monday, 10 February.

“Officers swiftly attended the scene and spoke to the victim. Detectives from the West Area’s Burglary and Robbery Team have since explored all lines of enquiry.

“No arrests have been made, but we continue to appeal for any information which would enable us to revisit the investigation.

“An image of the family’s dog, that appeared to go missing during the incident, has been circulated to Met officers in an effort to help locate it.”
