BELPRE, Ohio (WTAP)—Boxers Bed and Biscuits lost someone very dear to them, and they now have a memorial that serves a purpose and tells a story.
“She was one of the bravest people that I have ever met.” said Alexis Foster, Marketing Director, Boxers Bed and Biscuits.
Kyllie Miller, a woman who is described as outgoing, funny, caring, and passionate about animals, lost her battle with Leukemia in April 2024. She was part of the Boxers staff for 6 years, and she has, without a doubt, touched everyone’s life around her.
” I met Kyllie about 5 or 6 years ago when I first started working here at Boxers. She is one of the first friends that I met here. She was very welcoming, fun, and exciting.” said Foster.
She always made sure the animals didn’t feel lonely, and she understood the ones who were often misunderstood.
“You can tell she just had an incredible love and passion for animals. It would be no shock for us staff to walk by a dog’s room here in the back and see her hand feeding an animal or just cuddling them during their nap time so they didn’t feel so alone. She was always looking out for the more misunderstood animals here and animals that felt a little bit nervous and scared from being away from home for the first time during their boarding.” said Foster.
A Rainbow Bridge has been built in honor of Kyllie so we can remember not only her but also all of the pets we once loved here in the Mid-Ohio Valley. When an animal passes, it crosses the Rainbow Bridge and lives peacefully and happily until it is reunited with its owner once again.
“I wanted this bridge in honor to memorialize Kyllie, but really all of the pets in the MOV, and this is not necessarily just for the Boxers clients just because she did work here, we encourage everybody to stop by. Check it out, pay their respects to all of the leashes, colors, and things that hang on the bridge.” added Foster.
Anyone can hang a collar or leash or leave a stuffed animal at the bridge in remembrance of their beloved pet. The Rainbow Bridge is located at the entrance of Boxers Bed and Biscuits.
